FLORIN ILIESCU was born into a family of musicians in Bucharest in 1984 and began violin lessons at the age of five.
Violinists such as Zakhar Bron, Leonidas Kavakos and Stefan Gheorghiu influenced Florin Iliescu during his studies.
Florin Iliescu has been first concertmaster of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra since 2018. In 2019, he played at the Alte Oper in a duo with the internationally renowned violin virtuoso Gil Shaham. He performs regularly as a soloist; this year he made his solo debut with the Südwestfälische Philharmonie in Germany.

He has been invited to be “Artist in Residence” with the Timisoara Philharmonic Orchestra in the 2023-2025 seasons. He regularly gives solo concerts in South Korea and other countries around the world.
He recently performed the highly virtuoso Saint-Saëns arrangement “Caprice d’après l’Étude” by Eugène Ysaÿe in Seoul.
